The Other Map is a process of investigation and scenic creation together with María Stoyanova. It was part of the European project Be SpectACTive during the 2019 and was co-produced by Udruga Domino from Zagreb, Languedoc Stage Network- Rousillon , Plesni Teater in Ljubljana and Café de las Artes Santander Theater.
After completing residencies in Zagreb, Toulouse and Ljubljana, the process, culminated in Santander with the production and presentation of an itinerant site-specific participatory performance with the format of a tourist tour.
We both like to know the different places we go because of the people we interact with, for their personal stories and not so much for the tourist spaces that are supposed to be visited. A) Yes, beyond the official map, of the tourist map that can be picked up at tourist offices or establishments in each city, that tells you where to go and where to consume, we are interested in creating “other maps”. personal story maps, of memories, of relationships, of an "us" that has been disarticulated and that no longer has a voice. A map, well, of the silenced, of people's want to live; an unofficial map that has other routes.
Our goal is to weave and create new maps from memories, memories and stories of the people of different cities. We will connect their private lives with public spaces to reflect on the common, of this disjointed "we"
Through this artistic work we will question the "official" stories of cities; of their buildings, monuments, plazas, streets and we will give voice to its people. This "other map" will be created through work with volunteers (professionals and non-professionals of the performing arts, the more varied the better) of the community of each city, who will live an artistic process of scenic creation and artistic expression.
THE OTHER MAP is a critique of a world that is no longer ours, an increasingly destructive and cruel world, in which reality is fully confused with capitalism.
