Saunterer

“Sauntering (wander): term that comes from the idle person who wandered in the Middle Ages through the countryside and begged for alms under the pretext of going to Sainte Terre, to the Holy Land: from hearing it so much , the children screamed: “Go to Sainte Terre”: from there, saunterer, Pilgrim. There are, However, who suppose that the word comes from sans terre, without land or home, what, in a positive interpretation, would mean they don't have a specific home, but they feel at home anywhere. Because this is the secret of wandering achieved. However, I prefer the first etymology. Because each walk is a kind of crusade that some hermit preaches within us so that we can set out and regain this holy Land from the hands of the infidels ".

To walk, Henry David Thoreau.

Are we able to live another life, a life that has another speed? Can we stop being and acting like a brand? Can we become authors of our life? How to escape from our private lives and make the experience of a we?How to open new worlds?

SAUNTERER is a traveling performance, adaptable to the different spaces where it is carried out. It is also multidisciplinary, because it combines performance (the art of action) street theater, the humor, the poetry, politics and philosophy.

The starting point of the project is in the personal experience of the creator, in the walk, in texts that speak about this experience and in the texts of the philosopher Santiago López Petit and the Pressentiments de Espai en Blanc.

The performance asks about the possibility of leaving a world in which the outside no longer exists, in which reality is fully confused with capitalism. Raises the experience of walking as a possible act of resistance to the reality in which we live. As one of the last acts of freedom left to us. Open holes to breathe, light fires at night. In the depths of our despair there is a joy that calls us.

In addition to carrying the philosophy, critical thinking on stage in a simple way, the piece travels the places where it is performed with another rhythm, from another point of view, otherwise; thus discovering or rediscovering spaces and trying to create an experience.

The performance is divided into 5 parts. Each one is based on a concept. The sum of these concepts opens a shared journey and at the same time creates the dramaturgy and itinerancy of the performance..
